Clearance Table at Grassroots-Riverdale
Now that the inventory at Grassroots has been counted we realize that we have to find good homes for a lot of our products. We have set up our clearance table at the Grassroots-Riverdale location for the month of January. During January we will be clearing out discontinued lines, items without packaging, and samples at clearance prices. Shop early to save up to 90% off regular prices. Grassroots “Feel Good Fridays”

Grassroots donates 10% of their net sales on the last Friday of each month to local and national environmental organizations. We announce the recipient organization in the Grassroots Action e-newsletter each month, and we will send out a follow-up e-mail closer to the date. On Feel Good Friday we will also make room in our stores for the organizations to display information and outreach to our customers. Feel Good Fridays is another way that Grassroots works to bring together the environmental community and Grassroots customers. Please mark the last Friday of each month in your calendar to shop and support the environment.

Candle-Making with Melanie Stephens

Candle-making using beeswax is simple, fun and natural. Melanie has been making candles for over 10 years for personal use, gifts and sale. She sees candle-making as part of a process towards self-sufficiency and enjoys sharing her knowledge of this traditional craft. All participants at this workshop will hand-dip and take home their very own beeswax tapers


Soap Making with Amanda Montgomery
Wednesday January 18th

Amanda's handmade "Simply" soaps are very popular with Grassroots customers. At this workshop she will share her knowledge of soap-making and will make a batch of soap with the help of workshop participants. You will get to take home samples of the soap we make, as well as recipes for making your own soaps at home. Please bring a small soup can (to use as a mould--must be able to be opened from the bottom) and a tea towel.

In this workshop, we will be making vegan lip balm, bath balls, and other exciting treats for the body. Amanda Montgomery is a crafty lady with a wealth of herbal and natural healing knowledge. She will discuss the basic ingredients in body care as well as the benefits of various essential oils. All participants will go home with samples of what we make and easy recipes for making more at home!
